The story of 1861 Designs began with a simple conviction — that the jewellery we wear every day deserves the same hand and heart as the rarest heirloom.
From our small studio, each piece is shaped, polished, and finished by hand. We use only solid metals — surgical-grade stainless steel, 18-karat gold plating, and ethically sourced natural gemstones — chosen to last a lifetime, never to be replaced.
The Craft
Every 1861 piece passes through the same patient sequence: a sketch on paper, a wax model, casting, hand-polishing, and a final inspection. We never ship a piece we would not wear ourselves. The result is jewellery that sits quietly on the wrist or at the throat — a small daily act of devotion.
Sustainability
Our metals are recycled. Our stones are sourced from audited suppliers who can trace origin. Our packaging is FSC-certified paper, produced in Pakistan. We make to order — never to stock — so nothing we make is wasted. Each piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee: we will repair, re-polish, or re-plate, free of charge, for as long as you own it.
Quality Promise
Each piece is stamped with our maker’s mark and arrives with a numbered certificate of authenticity. We use surgical-grade stainless steel as our base metal — it will not tarnish, will not turn your skin green, and will outlive every fashion trend. Our 18-karat gold plating is applied in three layers for depth and durability.
Guarantee & Repairs
If a clasp fails, a stone loosens, or the gold plating fades — write to us. We will repair it, no matter how many years have passed, at no cost. Should you ever wish to pass a piece on to the next generation, we will re-finish it for them too.
